Monthly bookkeeping: four scopes
$395 to $1,200a month
A scope is how much of the work we do. $850 a month is our standard scope. The four published prices are $395, $625, $850 and $1,200 a month, all flat. Payroll, if you have staff, is priced separately below.
Month to month. No setup fee, no exit fee, software included. Clean handoff of your records if you leave.
One flat monthly price, and the same person on your file every month. Most firms here won’t quote you without a call. We publish ours.
The signature deliverable
The Bank-Ready Report
From Monthly Books Bank-Ready up, every month closes with the Bank-Ready Report: your numbers the way a lender reads them.
It is a monthly management report prepared from your books, with plain-language notes on what a lender would notice, for your own use and for conversations with your lender. It is not an audited, reviewed or compiled financial statement. Where a lender asks for compiled or reviewed statements, those come from your CPA, and our report goes alongside.
- In every scopeBooks reconciled, HST filed, a clean year-end package.
- Payroll, when you need itCharged on top of your scope price, and priced by how often you pay. Rates and terms are below.
The four scopes.
Named prices, not a range. A close means finishing and checking a period’s books.
-
Books Compliance$395/mo
Books current, HST filed, a clean year-end file, on a quarterly close. No monthly management reports. The honest answer if you are not borrowing this year. You can move up when that changes.
-
Monthly Books$625/mo
A monthly close, reconciled books, monthly management reports, HST filed, questions answered. No Bank-Ready Report and no lender-lens review. Those start one step up.
-
Our standard scope
Monthly Books Bank-Ready$850/moEverything in Monthly Books, closed by the 10th. Plus the Bank-Ready Report every month, a quarterly lender-lens review (we re-read your books the way a lender would), AR and AP aging (who owes you, who you owe, how late each is), and receipt capture. It costs $225 a month more than Monthly Books, and that $225 buys the report.
-
Monthly Books Plus$1,200/mo
Everything above, plus bill pay, invoicing with follow-up on what you are owed, an optional weekly close, and job costing or inventory where the software supports it. Biweekly payroll for up to 10 employees is included. So are the monthly advisory review and the Annual Goal-Setting Session.
Every scope is flat and never hourly. It moves only when the work changes materially.
Payroll, if you have staff
Payroll is charged on top of your monthly scope price. You can add it to any scope from Monthly Books Bank-Ready up, and to the Fisher Plan.
- Biweekly or semi-monthly pay$150 a month, plus $8 per employee per month
- Weekly pay$225 a month, plus $8 per employee per month
Both cover your pay runs, the deductions you send the CRA, a Record of Employment (ROE) when someone leaves, T4 and T4A slips at year end, and the annual return to your province’s workers’ compensation board (WCB PEI, WCB Nova Scotia, WorkSafeNB or WorkplaceNL).
Two ROEs a year are included. Extra ones are $25 each. Setting payroll up is a one-time $250 for accounts, employee records, direct deposit and opening balances.
Monthly Books Plus includes biweekly pay runs for your first 10 employees. Each employee after the tenth is $8 per month. Weekly pay on Monthly Books Plus is $75 more a month.
Income tax returns are not part of any scope. They stay your CPA’s work.
Prices last reviewed September 2026.
You don’t have to guess. The Checkup reads the books and names the scope that keeps them right.
